A Special Meeting of the Forum Island Country Trade Ministers was successfully concluded last Saturday, 10 December 2011 in Brussels.
The Meeting considered the Report from the Chief Trade Adviser Selection Panel and the recommendations contained in the Report.
In accordance with the OCTA Constitution, the appointment of the Chief Trade Adviser will be made by the Governing Board on the recommendation of the Forum Island Country Trade Ministers’ Meeting.
The Meeting had agreed on the way forward on the Chief Trade Adviser appointment. The Governing Board has been directed to proceed with the appointment on this basis.
The Governing Board shall then agree on the terms of appointment with the new Chief Trade Adviser. Further announcement will be made once an agreement is reached.
The new Chief Trade Adviser will lead the Office of the Chief Trade Adviser (OCTA) into a new era. It is hoped that the new Chief Trade Adviser will be in place in good time to join in and lead the preparations for the next PACER Plus meetings
